Completed projects, all of
which have yielded positive results for the owner include:
- Provided process
support for the design, installation, and startup of a 30,000 BPD NGL
fractionation facility in South Texas.
- Provided process
support for the design, installation, and startup of a 200 MMSCFD gas
processing plant in South Texas. Wrote
the operating manual and trained the operators.
- Provided technical
assistance and reviewed the design of a 120,000 gallon per day LNG production
facility designed to process gas that is high in nitrogen, CO2 and heavy
hydrocarbons.
- Provided technical
review of several smaller LNG production facilities including methane recycle,
nitrogen refrigeration, cascade refrigeration, and mixed refrigerants using
pipeline quality gas in several areas of the US.
- Redesigned and
relocated an existing fractionation unit.
Developed the process design and equipment redesign to increase capacity
and managed the detail engineering.
Coordinated engineering with construction during the installation.
- Developed a redesign
for 3 existing cryogenic processing plants with condensate stabilizers that
increased throughput and improved product recovery.
- Reviewed the design of
a NGL fractionation plant and participated in PHA. Developed operating manual and trained the
operators.
- Reviewed the operation
of an NRU/Helium purification unit in a gas processing plant in Utah. Discussed modifications required for changing
gas composition with Praxair. Project
did not materialize because of decreasing production.
- Debottlenecked an off
shore Amine Unit and Sulfur Recovery Unit.
Modified operator training manual and trained operators.
- Developed redesign of a
cryogenic gas processing plant with condensate stabilizer, from conceptual
design through startup. Participated in
PHA, developed the operating manual, and trained the operators.
- Developed hydraulic
study for a CO2 pipeline to deliver CO2 over a mountain. Included pumps and pressure reduction
stations.
- Developed design to
refurbish and retrofit an existing plant for new service in Peru. The technology of the plant has been updated
to accomplish 96% propane recovery, while rejecting all the ethane. Managed the detail engineering and
fabrication of the Plant in Houston, Texas.
The modules were assembled and tested before shipment to Peru with
prefabricated pipe. Managed the
completion and checkout of control and shutdown systems. Trained operators and commissioned the plant. Plant operated with higher than predicted
propane recovery.
- Developed conceptual
design for a 12 MMSCFD gas treating and processing plant designed to remove CO2
and H2S from a natural gas stream in Wyoming. Amine will be used for acid gas removal. The plant includes a cryogenic NRU with
helium recovery. The acid gas will be re-injected
into the formation.
- Developed conceptual
design for a 40 MMSCFD gas treating and processing facility for a natural gas
stream containing 73% CO2 in Southern Colorado. The facility included a hybrid membrane and
amine unit for CO2 removal, along with a cryogenic plant and
Depropanizer. Reviewed and approved
detail design documents.
- Reviewed the design of
a 1.2 BCFD cryogenic plant to be constructed in Saudi Arabia. Evaluated layout, equipment arrangement,
potential hydraulic problems, operability, dryout, and startup procedures. Reviewed equipment design parameters and
responded to PSM review questions.
- Reviewed the P&IDs,
piping drawings, and overall design of three (3) large cryogenic processing
plants for Williams Field Services.
Revised the operating manual and trained the operators for two of these
plants, which were retrofits. Contracted
to review the operation and evaluate problem areas in one plant that was not
performing properly.
- Developed the
conceptual design and budget estimate for a sour gas treating, gas processing,
and nitrogen rejection unit for Wyoming.
- Monitored and reviewed
the engineering, fabrication, and construction for the retrofit of five (5)
major cryogenic processing facilities in Mexico for Pemex. Wrote the operating manual and provided
on-site coordination of the construction, plant shutdown, turn-around, and
restart. Trained operators and ran
performance tests for these facilities.
- Managed conceptual
design of sour gas treating plant with 8 LTPD sulfur recovery unit. Developed budget estimates for AFEs and
reviewed and approved the detail design documents.
- Redesigned a Nitrogen
Rejection Plant for a new application.
Developed budget estimates for recommended modifications and
refurbishing required to meet the new requirements. Developed the operating manual and trained
operators.
